Antique wooden shoe tree for children’s shoes

Antique children’s wooden lasts. Each wooden last has a history of its past and shows signs of time and use by the shoemaker craftsman. Just as they appear in the photographs. The last is a piece of wood that imitates the dimensions and profile of a human foot. Originally, the last was used by shoemakers when making shoes. It was used to measure the pieces of leather that had to be cut and to sew them onto it, respecting the shape of the shoe. They follow the shape of the shoe and are made in pairs, as they are different for the right and left foot. Nowadays, most shoes are manufactured industrially, leaving the last exclusively for use in handmade and made-to-measure shoes.
