Bacín is a cylindrical or truncated cone-shaped glazed container, normally with one or two handles, used since ancient times to collect excrement from the human body. In the geography of the Spanish language, its diminutives have also been very popular: bacinejo, bacinilla and bacinica. Other synonyms shared with the urinal are: the perico (tall and with a lid); the beque marinero; the sillico (from the diminutive of silla); the dompedro, a colloquial form of urinal; the galanga (antecedent of the cuña, with a hollow handle and bottle shape); the zambullo (one of the largest in the series); the petulant “vaso de noche”, and the chata (the flat potty of the sick).
