Set of vintage Siam Thailand Buddha forks
An intriguing set consisting of three red velvet-lined cases containing six small cocktail or dessert forks from the 1950s. Handcrafted from nickel or bronze, with rosewood handles. The handle is carved on one side with the figure of the Buddha of Siam (Thailand) seated and on the other side with the inscription of the material from which it is made. These pieces were highly coveted by the wealthy in the mid-20th century. At the time, they were used in haute cuisine restaurants throughout Asia. Condition: good, slight wear, some discolouration of the bronze due to age and superficial scratches, which can be polished. Two of the three cases are new and unopened.
